If you happen to see this displayed while I am not there with it and wonder if it looks like me, I’ll let you decide.

I don’t like showing this much because this was an early version when I was still having trouble collecting pieces in the right colors. I had to substitute so much that I considered this the Frankenstein-ed version. I have made significant changes to it since then.

This is my SigFig. This is straight from LEGO and is not a custom piece. I almost have to believe they had a photo of me when they designed it. Everyone seems to agree it’s my perfect likeness. I do have a minifig shaped head so that helps. I want to find a stud-shaped hat to wear to add to the “illusion”.

Until I took this photo and enlarged it, I never noticed that this minifig head actually has 2 sets of eyebrows. One above the glasses and one “inside” the glasses. I assume they took the eyes and attached eyebrows from another head and then added the glasses and another set of eyebrows.

Here is a rough outline of the process in creating this piece:

I knew I didn’t want to do a straight mosaic. I already had the idea of how to shape the head to give it a 3D effect using certain pieces. I just needed to map out the colors I wanted.

I took the photo of the minifig head and pixelated it and changing the colors to be solid in LEGO colors. That image was then duplicated to make the 4 individual frames while trying different color schemes.

If you see this piece in person, there is one more detail you can look for. I try to wear a shirt that matches the color of the top-right minifig head with yellow skin and pink background. On each new day, I will change out the color of the shirt(s) on the display to match what I am wearing.
